Preparing fish nuggets is a fun way to serve nutrient-packed fish to kids and kid-at-heart. The good news is you can turn it into a business.
Here are some simple recipes for your fish nugget business:
Fish Nugget Recipe #1:
¾ kg. Of fish meat, grounded
1 tbsp. of iodized salt
2 medium-sized onions chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 tbsp. of nutmeg
1 tbsp. of white sugar
1 tbsp. of cinnamon
¾ cups of Wheat flour
1 ½ cup of cold water
2 tbsp. of vegetable oil
1 cup shrimp meat, chopped
1 ½ cup of bread crumbs
Commercially prepared batter mix
In a bowl, mix the fish, salt, onions, and chopped garlic until evenly spread. Add nutmeg, white sugar, cinnamon, and wheat flour. Mix thoroughly while adding water little by little.
Next, add the vegetable oil. Lastly, add the shrimp meat. Continue mixing until a homogeneous mixture is achieved. Mold mixture into desired shape and dip one by one in a batter mix.
Roll in bread crumbs put in polyethylene bags and seal. You can sell as frozen fish nuggets or deep fry and sell.
Fish Nugget Recipe # 2:
4 pieces medium sized tilapia, filleted and cut into squares
4 tbsp. flour
1 egg beaten
1 cup bread crumbs
4 tbsp. cooking oil
2 pieces sweet potatoes peeled and sliced into sticks or wedges
1 tbsp. of honey
Roll each fish meat in flour and then dip in beaten egg and coat with breadcrumbs. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 20 minutes. Preheat the pan, pour the cooking oil and then deep fry each side until golden brown. Do the same with the sweet potato sticks. Consume immediately to ensure crispiness.
Fish Nugget Recipe # 3:
¼ kilo of fish fillet (any firm fish of your choice)
1 tbsp. lemon juice
3 tbsp of milk
2 tbsp mustard
2 tbsp yogurt
Salt and pepper
Preheat oven to 395 degrees F, then line the baking tray with baking parchment. Cut fish fillet into squares and drizzle with lemon juice, sprinkle with salt and pepper. In a separate bowl, combine milk, egg, mustard and yogurt, and a little salt and pepper.
Mix well. Dip fish nuggets to the mixture and allow draining a little. Coat with bread crumbs lay them on the baking tray and bake for 10 minutes.
Set aside to cool and pack in small plastic bags and freeze. You can sell the frozen nuggets and thaw and broil to serve.
Although there are many commercially prepared fish balls and fish nuggets on the market you can still have the edge against the competitors thru sanitary preparation and packaging, face to face selling to the customers who trust you better than your competitors, and the personal touch you give because you are selling a home made product.
