Student Discount on Apple Products

Apple is known for its pricey products that usually deliver for most people, but there are some ways to get a discount that not many people know about. The company wants to break into the education market more than they are involved currently, and they are courting students, educators, and administrators with discounts. At the Apple Education Store, you can get cheap Mac computers and other Apple products. Most people aren’t aware of it, but the Education Store can provide great discounts when it comes to buying a new computer or tablet. Want to know how to get your discount? Read ahead to see who qualifies, how to get the discount, and what kind of products are available.

Who Can Get a Student Discount?

In addition to all students getting a discount at the Apple Education Store in both the UK and the US discounts are also available to teachers, lecturers, staff members, and administrative workers. Basically anyone who works at or attends a university, college, or school can save on Apple products at the Education Store. If you are buying for your child, you can get a discount but parents cannot get savings on your own. It doesn’t matter if it’s a public or private institution, and post-secondary education students can also be eligible.

How Can I Get my Discount?

Obtaining your Apple discount is actually pretty easy, you should visit one of the Education Stores in the UK and the US. According to the site MoneyPug, which is used to find deals on mobile phone insurance, in the UK you will first need to use UNiDAYS to get access to their store. All you have to do is enter your email address, make a password, and input your name, institution, subject of study, year of graduation, and course length. After that you will be signed up and able to purchase products at the store.

In the US, there is no log in or ID to buy from the Education Store but Apple can request to see evidence of your student status. They may ask for an ID card or proof of enrollment papers and can do this before, during, and after the purchase. The store may also charge you an additional fee if you don’t provide the necessary documentation.

When you’re looking for computers for the institution itself, Apple has stores just for that. It is called the Apple Store for Schools and Universities. You’ll need to register with Apple before you can make purchases. Shopping here is a lot like buying from a regular store with better prices. Log on from your institution’s network and be prepared to offer some form of identification that proves you’re a student and use your student ID. If you can’t register on a verification site, you can also call Apple or use their online chat feature.

What Discounts are Available at the Education Store?

The Apple Education Store doesn’t have a stock discount ratio, instead they set discounted prices for each product. These discounts are currently available for computers and iPads. Unfortunately, there aren’t usually discounts for phones and other products may not be available. Still these discounts can save you hundreds on computers and get smaller savings on other products depending on the model. There are no discounts on Apple TVs and Apple Watches.

Other Discounts

There are also other options for getting discounts if you don’t qualify for the Apple Education Store. You can go to the Refurbished Store, where you can buy products that were once worn and broken before they were fixed. You can also see if an insurer will cover the cost of a phone. Some insurance companies will offer to cover a phone as a part of your insurance policy, but you will likely have a high rate.

But whether you are a student, teacher, administrative, or another education institution worker, you can take advantage of the discounts at the Apple Education Store. If you do your research and find the best deal, you will be able to get the computer or tablet you need.
