No matter how busy you are at work, you should be able to take care of yourself. As they say “have a good cleaning living”, take note of these few healthy tips to keep you sane every day.
1. Never miss breakfast
First thing’s first. Usually you set an alarm just enough time to prepare yourself for the day, that is to take a bath and dress up. Don’t you think you’re missing something? Yes, to eat breakfast. There are many ways to prep breakfast meals. Actually, the easiest one is a sandwich spread, just add in some pre-chopped veggies. Another breakfast idea is oatmeal. Most oats just need warm water and mix in a few of your favorite fresh fruits, what about sliced bananas and sprinkle of Cinnamon? -yum!
2. Avoid skipping meals
Reiterating clichés is a must. Schedule your meals, too buys? Munch something while on-the-go. A pack of whole grain crackers is equal to one cup of rice. If you haven’t eaten at lunchtime, please do in the snack time or merienda. Don’t go binge-eating, you will just experience stomachache. To avoid skipping meals, don’t make an excuse that you don’t have time to prep your meals in the morning or the night before. If preparing meals is not an option, buy healthy food take-outs before going to work, stash it in the fridge at work and pop it in the microwave at lunchtime.
3. Bring bottled water
Here’s a tip, don’t just bring water, slice some lemons and cucumber and toss it in your water bottle. Infused water will help you in digestion and it keeps you chugging a little more because of the subtle flavor of the fruits. Keep your bottled water or tumbler beside you while working. Every time you run out of water, refill. Yes, you still need to drink 8-10 glasses of water a day, even more when the weather is quite warm. Keep yourself hydrated at all times.
4. Keep healthy snacks on hand
When you go grocery shopping, list on some healthy go-tos like nuts, energy and protein bars, dark chocolates, and fruits easy to much with like bananas and apples. If you have fridge in the office, store your own yogurt, grapes and maybe homemade tuna or chicken sandwich spread. Refrain from keeping candies and junk food in your drawers, a gum would do. Junk food will only make you feel bloated, eating junk food is just like piling air food into your poor tummy.
5. Know the wonder of Chia seeds
These seeds help control hunger while they enhance your diet. How to eat it? Best if you mix it in your regular coffee or milk drink, our pour it in your oatmeal. You can also mix it with your own freshly squeezed lemon juice and a little honey, seems refreshing!
6. Magic of mason jars.
These hit containers pushed away the usual plastic Tupperwares or Lock n’ lock and tumblers we grew up with. Mason jars are everywhere in the market. It is an alternative to store your baon. You can whip up your own salads, stock it in your fridge and you’re good to go the next day. You can also use these jars for your oatmeal recipes.
